Ochre Oko is a bread and pastry enterprise founded by self-taught baker Jordan Shabazz (he/they). Initially inspired by the serviceability of viennoiserie, as well as their own proximity to European, Creole and Afro-Diasporic foodways, Shabazz launched Ochre Oko as a therapeutic and affirming space to create artisan baked goods through a pancultural lens.

The name Ochre Oko references the rich earthen colors as reflected in grain, and the orisha (Yoruban spirit) of agriculture and fertility.

To honor traditionalism, intentionality, and the physically grounding nature of artisan food customs, Ochre Oko products are made entirely by hand with high-quality organic ingredients.
